Faerieworlds 2017

We once again returned to Horning's Hideout for Faerieworlds for our third year running. This time, however, we shifted back one week in hopes of missing the rain. Which we did, and in fact the weather was appropriately hot. Even aside from that, though, 2017 was a pretty bad fire year; fortunately, we were not occluded by smoke either. (The smoke returned for Labor Day weekend; all this said, then, it's probably for the best that we weren't on Labor Day this year.)

Personally speaking, this was my most enjoyable year of the show; where last year was my first run on a CPAP, this year also had me on blood pressure medication, running a new vehicle, running a new camera, and just plain feeling welcome and loved after the last relationship I had been in. I suspect, in reflection, that next year will be even better yet - I expect that I will be wearing orthotics by the time 2018 happens; considering that my feet and knees are all shot to hell, this will be for the best.

Anyway, enough of my personal problems.

This marks the first full event I shot with my new camera - a Nikon D5500 that I purchased in May. While the event went well and I'm pretty sure I didn't get any dust in it, I'm going to have to take some time to clean it. In fact, by the time you read this, it will have already been cleaned up. Hopefully. =^_^=;;

Also at this event was the celebration of Travis Prinslow, who passed on to the next realm in early July.

In more pleasant news though, this was also the 25th anniversary of a coule of friends - both of whom have been volunteering for this event since before I started in '11. So the shots of those shenanigans are here as well.

All considered, this was probably the best event I've attended and/or worked in quite some time. And now, you get to see.
