Califur 0 was held in May of 2004 at the Atrium Hotel in Irvine, California - right across from John Wayne Airport. I had staffed this convention. Whereas it was expected we would get something like 200 attendees, if memory serves right, we actually watched something over 300 attend; while it's considered unprecedented for a first run con, this was also a replacement to the since deceased Confurence, whose last run was in 2003.
