* WHAT IS THE FANFIC MAILING LIST?

The fanfic mailing list (FFML, or ML for short) is a forum for authors
and fans to discuss fanfics (fanfiction stories) that are posted to
the FFML. Originally, the FFML allowed only stories involving
settings, characters, props, attacks or any combination of the above
from anime/manga. It has recently expanded its scope, but it still
  has a strong anime/manga flavor.

I'll agree that Jon wasn't being the most encouraging poster, there
(and have already spoken to him off-list with regards to that).

We want to encourage constructive discussion, and to keep it topical.

Reminded of an ancient Letterman episode RE: Americans, with the 'new'
McDonalds coffee cup and warning labels. "Hey, genius! This stuff's
_hot_!"

Anyway. All of that aside, I just want to point out that it's great
to have discussion on the story (especially if it's constructive
criticism), but let's veer away from arguments and getting
side-tracked into discussing policy and intent. Let's try and keep
things more on a positive level.

In keeping with that ideal:

Lurker, I notice that this is tagged as a one-shot, and I realize I'm
not the best person to ask this question (since I haven't read it),
but since no one else has pointed this out: Isn't it actually
connected to the rest of the stories you've been posted lately in some
sort of unified overstory?

Just a technical detail, but I would think it would be more
'sidestory' if it's a standalone piece that depends on (but is not
depended on) the other story elements instead of 'oneshot'? There
could be a good technical reason you're categorizing it this way, and
I just don't know it, so ... have to ask!

Oh, well. The best I can offer from here; hopefully someone else more
familiar with the source story can actually give ELL some better
feedback. :)

Who holds an admin hat. It is a very nice hat. He is glad he does
not yet need to wear it.
