Either that, or it's one of those insidious new Stealth fanfics that we can't see on email.
Niven's Law for Writers #2: Never be embarrassed or ashamed about anything you choose to write. (Think of this before you send it.)

Nnnnh. So that means I have to pester you guys for a decade with bad fics before I get any responses to any single one of them...? Oh no, wait. The ML address/program itself kills my fic submissions (happened 2-3 times on the old ML). Nevermind.

Well, what constitutes "Better"? in the end, the writer is free to accept or reject C&C suggestions at his own risk. I used to have my friends C&C my fics, and they ended up WORSE than before, mainly because they took it as a permit to rewrite my story -their- way.
In the end, the only way a writer can get better is if he -reads-. That's the only way you can pick up styles of writing that you can use. You can't be a writer of any degree of capability if you don't read. Period.
@CKK--=STRONG= suggestion: put your fic-writing aside for a few months and go read some mainstream fiction, in particular those that have won awards of some sort or other. You'll thank me for it.
