I don't know, I think there's been at least some minimal improvement.
One of the major problems with Kaydee's fics in the past is that they
read like very short outlines or summaries of a longer story - they
are all tell and no show. On a scale of 1 to 10, few rise above a 1.
The one posted this week (Ranma/Xander), on the other hand, was
actually somewhat acceptable for a story of its length. It didn't
attempt to over-explain the backstory, the twist (while not all that
original) was competently executed, and I haven't seen quite that
variation before, and the characterization was actually halfway decent
(assuming you can accept "female ranma marries guy"). If you're going
to write flash-fiction (not my favorite - I prefer long works), that's
the way to do it - don't waste time with backstory, concentrate on
characterization, and have a decent twist. Overall, I give it a 4.
Now to see if she can actually repeat the feat...
The Lurker's fic - that's a 9, and I'm definitely interested in the
next chapter.
