Well, perhaps not screwed up so much as...
Hmm, i dunno. I guess i just get a little annoyed when genre
conventions become so ingrained that it's almost like something _must_
happen in a particular fashion because that's how it happened in many
other examples of the genre. I probably shouldn't read shounen manga
at all...
And, as a character, it kind of... cheapens Naruto to have _both_ of
his parents be historically significant figures; i dunno...

Bah, spare me your 'biographical evidence.' They're out there, i tell
you! O_o;...

I doubt it is as well, in canon.

Do we have a canon example, perhaps Hiashi's wife? Of course, if the
marriage was arranged before she was sealed, then i suppose she might
not have ever had one...
And would the elders really sit well with having a clan head that is
so openly hostile to clan tradition? Hiashi can't make this decision
in a vaccum...

Assuming the Hyuuga main house has a secret method of doing such a
thing; if he feels such a deep debt toward Hizashi, why didn't Hiashi
adopt Neji and have him unsealed in the past, before Neji's resentment
had years to fester?
Also, if the custom was for members of the branch families to marry
members of the main family, to keep the bloodline pure, then there
would probably be past precedent for one member of such unions to be
sealed (unless there is, in fact, a known method of removing the
seals- a possiblity which seems to put to lie by Neji's absolute
certainty of his 'fate').

Wasn't disagreeing with you; there are just a lot of people who seem
to see only portents of doom and despair in what has happened to
Hinata here...
