Hey, I'm a lot nicer to Kyle than Lisa Grey was in Dragon Lady of 
Macross. :)

As to the Tomahawk issue, it matter little whether the explosions of the 
missiles would completely destroy the Mecha. They would, at least, 
remove the arms, probably destroy the linkages required to operate the 
torso gun mount, and certainly wipe out the medium-range missile box. 
Therefore rendering unarmed, and without the ability to fight even in 
hand-to-hand. The crew are probably fine, but it's out of the fight.

And I note the typical confusion with Macross vs Robotech Destroid 
naming; 'Spartans' in Macross (and my fic) are referred to as 
'Gladiators' in Robotech; the 'Spartans' of Robotech are 'Phalanx' in 
Macross.

You're right that this chapter could use a bit of fleshing out; I intend 
to go through the whole damn thing when it's done and give many other 
chapters that treatment.
