My initial thought from Rowlings comment about it annoying certain
groups is this is just an attempt to generate controversy and thus
publicity.
My next thought was drowned out be the squeeing of the yaoi fangirls,
who I expect to churn out a ludicrous amount of Dumbledore/Harry,
Dumbledore/Snape, etc, on ff.net in the next two weeks. Most of these
fics will feature 'chapters' of less 500 words and their 'authors' will
be totally unaware of the invention of the spellchecker.
My third thought is Luke Mason's analysis of the character based on this
does a lot to explain certain inactions of Dumbledore, so some good may
come of it in the world of fanfic.
If only it weren't for the squeeing yaoi fangirls
