[FFML] [CONTEST][WWW] Call for Harry Potter Submissions

 The HarryGinny.net Relaunch Fanfiction Contest is designed to promote
creativity and a building of a fanfiction archive replete with the
very best in H/G and "Allied" ship fanfiction. The rules are:

1) Fanfiction must stress or include significant reference to H/G or
an "Allied" ship.
Allied ships refer to those that are not necessarily canonical, but
are considered pretty damn likely by the HG.net community. Allied
ships include Ron/Hermione and Neville/Luna. Allied also includes:

Ted/Victoire and Severus/Lily



Canonical ships, such as Arthur/Molly, Percy/Penelope, Bill/Fleur,
James/Lily, Remus/Tonks, etc, etc will, of course, be included.

2) Fanfiction must not include a non-canon or non-allied ship even if
it is not the focus of the fic. That's cheating. An example would be a
fic where the focus is on H/G and R/Hr, but Luna/Dean show up for a
cameo.

3) R-rated and NC-17 fanfiction is encouraged but will be judged
independently of G to PG-13. Submitters must OWL bragg or myself
instead of posting said material anywhere on the forums or the site.
This is an all-ages board, and decorum must be maintained. If
accepted, submissions will be placed in a password protected
Restricted Section for Gryffindor Alumni aged 17 and above.

4) An address (somewhere I can send your prize) must be included with
the submission, either by OWLing bragg or myself, or by including it
with the submission itself if done by OWL or Email and not by posting
in The Library.

5) I encourage longer fics to be sent by OWL or Email, and oneshots,
ficlets, songfics, etc sent to The Library forum.

6) Not all submissions will be included. The point is to hold up the
standards of the Queens of H/G and only accept those fics that have
proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, and
characterization. Check over your work. I won't mind correcting a few
typos; no matter how much I check, a few still manage to escape me
when I finish a work, but know that if you submit crap, it will be
flushed down the loo and you will be asked to try again.

7) Deadline is September 20th 2007. You may certainly continue to
submit fics after this date, and I hope everyone will, but fics
submitted after this date will not be eligible for the prize.

8) The prize looks like it will be a Gryffindor Prefect Badge. One for
the winner of G-PG-13, and one for R-NC-17.

9) Multiple Submissions are allowed.

10) Just to be clear again. No non-canon/non-allied ships. And I don't
want to hear any arguments on this subject. Paraphrasing the Queens:

The Kings of H/G do not get involved in shipper debates. They are
beneath Us. The way things should work out is entirely obvious and if
others wish to delude themselves into thinking otherwise, then that is
their decision. We are not responsible for others' delusions. We have
more important things to think about.
